Who we are and what this policy covers

Pure Vitality Hub is an independent wellness publication covering healthy recipes, weight loss guidance and home workouts. It is operated by an individual publisher, not a corporation, and the site is funded through advertising rather than subscriptions or the sale of personal data.

This policy covers the website at purevitalityhub.online, including every article, page and interactive tool hosted on it. It does not cover other websites that we link to. Once you follow an external link you are subject to that site’s own privacy practices, and we have no control over what they collect.

What information is collected

There are two very different categories here, and the distinction matters. Some information is collected automatically the moment any browser loads any web page. Other information exists only because you deliberately typed it and pressed a button.

Collected automatically

Like virtually every website on the internet, our host and our analytics and advertising partners receive certain technical information when a page loads:

• Your IP address, which also gives an approximate geographic location, usually at city or regional level rather than street level
• Browser type and version, operating system, device type and screen size
• The page you requested, the page you arrived from, and the time of the request
• How long you stayed, which links you clicked, and how far down the page you scrolled
• Cookie identifiers and similar device identifiers, described in detail in our Cookie Policy

Information you choose to give us

This is limited to what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, the topic you selected, an optional page link, and the content of your message. If you leave a comment on an article, we receive the name, email address and comment text you submitted, along with your IP address and browser details, which WordPress records as a standard anti-spam measure.

Information that never leaves your device

Our calculators and planning tools ask for details such as age, height, weight, activity level and goals. This is genuinely sensitive information, and it is deliberately handled differently from everything else on this site. Those tools run entirely inside your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted to our server, to an analytics provider, to an advertiser, or to anyone else. Where a tool remembers your entries between visits, it does so using your browser’s local storage, which is a private space on your own device that we cannot read remotely.

Why this information is used

Data collected on this site is used for the following purposes and nothing else:

• To deliver the website. Serving pages, loading images, keeping the site secure and diagnosing errors when something breaks.
• To understand what is useful. Aggregated analytics tell us which articles people actually read and where they lose interest, which is how we decide what to write and improve next. We look at patterns across thousands of visits, not at individuals.
• To fund the site through advertising. Advertising is what pays for hosting, tools and the time spent writing. Some of that advertising is personalized based on data collected by our advertising partners, which is explained in full in the advertising section below.
• To answer you. If you contact us, your name and email are used to reply and for nothing else. You are not added to a mailing list.
• To prevent abuse. Spam filtering on comments and the contact form, and basic security monitoring.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some United States privacy laws, however, the sharing of data with advertising partners for interest-based advertising is legally defined as a sale or share, and your rights in that respect are set out below.

Advertising, Mediavine and interest-based ads

This website carries third-party advertising, and that advertising is what keeps the content free to read. Advertising is also the single largest source of data collection on this site, so it deserves the most detailed explanation.

How programmatic advertising works

The advertisements you see are not chosen by us. When a page loads, our advertising partner runs an automated auction in a fraction of a second, and advertisers bid for the opportunity to show you an advertisement. To decide what to bid, those advertisers may use information about the type of content you are reading, your approximate location, your device, and, if you have consented or not opted out, an advertising profile built from your activity across many websites over time.

What advertising partners may collect

Our advertising partner and the demand partners it works with may collect and process the following when advertisements are served:

• IP address and approximate geographic location
• Device type, operating system and version, browser type and version, and screen resolution
• Cookie identifiers, advertising identifiers and similar unique identifiers
• Pages viewed on this site, time spent, and referral source
• Which advertisements were displayed, viewed or clicked, and how often
• Audience segments and interest categories inferred from activity across multiple websites and apps

Opting out of interest-based advertising

You can limit or refuse personalized advertising in several ways:

• On this site. Our advertising partner provides a consent tool. Visitors in the EU and UK see an Update Privacy Settings or similar link, and visitors in United States states with applicable privacy laws see a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link. These usually appear in the site footer or in the consent banner.
• Industry opt-out pages. The Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org, and for European visitors youronlinechoices.eu.
• Advertising partner list. Details of the companies involved and their individual privacy policies are published at mediavine.com/ad-partners.
• In your browser or device. Blocking third-party cookies, or turning on the advertising limits built into iOS and Android, reduces this tracking considerably.

Opting out does not remove advertising from the site. You will still see the same number of advertisements, but they will be generic rather than tailored, and they typically generate less revenue for the publisher.

Analytics and other services we rely on

We use a small number of third-party services to run the site. Each one receives some technical data as a natural consequence of doing its job:

EDIT – remove any row that does not apply to your setup, and add anything else you use, such as an email newsletter provider or Pinterest analytics.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We chose them because they are widely used and publish clear documentation, but we do not control what they do internally.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Some are essential, some remember your preferences, and some exist purely to track advertising performance across sites.

In short: you can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, and blocking third-party cookies will not stop this site from working. Blocking all cookies including first-party ones may cause some preferences to be forgotten between visits.

Legal bases for processing (UK and EU visitors)

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR require us to identify a lawful basis for each type of processing. Ours are as follows:

• Consent. Non-essential cookies, analytics and personalized advertising rely on your consent, given through the consent banner. You can withdraw it at any time using the privacy settings link, and withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.
• Legitimate interests. Basic security logging, spam prevention, and aggregated non-personalized measurement rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure and functioning website, balanced against your rights.
• Legitimate interests. Replying to a message you sent us relies on our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence you initiated.

We do not rely on consent from children, and this site is not directed at them. See the children’s section below.

Your privacy rights and how to use them

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend the core rights to every visitor regardless of location, because it seems reasonable to do so.

• Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Correction. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
• Deletion. Ask us to delete your information, for example a comment you left or a message you sent.
• Objection and restriction. Object to certain processing or ask us to limit it.
• Portability. Receive a copy of information you provided, in a usable format.
• Withdraw consent. Change your cookie and advertising choices whenever you like.
• Opt out of sale or sharing. Residents of California and other United States states with applicable privacy laws can opt out of the sharing of personal information for interest-based advertising using the link described in the advertising section.
• Non-discrimination. Exercising any of these rights will never result in a worse experience on this site.

How to make a request

Email us or use the contact form and tell us which right you want to exercise. We aim to respond within 30 days, which is the standard period under both GDPR and CCPA. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm the request genuinely relates to you, particularly for deletion requests, but we will not demand excessive documentation.

If you are in the UK you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. If you are in the EEA you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue directly first.

How long information is kept

• Contact form messages and email correspondence. Kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, generally up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Comments. Kept for as long as the article is published, unless you ask us to remove them.
• Server logs. Typically retained by our host for a short rolling window, usually a matter of weeks, then overwritten.
• Analytics data. Retained in aggregated form according to the provider’s retention settings, commonly between 2 and 14 months for user-level records.
• Advertising cookies. Vary by partner, from a single session up to around 13 months, and can be deleted by you at any time.
• Tool entries in local storage. Held on your device until you clear them or clear your browser data. We never receive them at all.

How information is protected

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so traffic between your browser and our server cannot easily be read in transit. Access to the WordPress administration area is restricted, protected by strong credentials, and software is kept updated. Our host maintains its own physical and network security measures.

That said, no method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling. Please do not send sensitive personal or medical details through the contact form. We do not need them, we cannot advise on them, and email is not a secure channel for that kind of information.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our calculators and planning tools are built for healthy adults aged 18 and over, and the results they produce are not appropriate for children or adolescents, whose nutritional and growth needs are completely different.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International visitors and data transfers

This site is operated from USA and read by people around the world. Our hosting, analytics and advertising providers operate servers in multiple countries, including the United States. If you access the site from outside those countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in a jurisdiction with different data protection laws from your own.

Where our providers transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, they generally rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard. By using the site you understand that this transfer takes place.

Changes to this policy

Laws change, advertising partners change, and websites change. When this policy is updated the effective date at the top of the page is revised, and material changes will be highlighted on the page for a reasonable period so returning visitors notice them.

We will never make a change that retroactively reduces the protection of information already collected without telling you clearly.

You are also welcome to ask a general question about how something on this site works. Reasonable curiosity about data handling is not a nuisance, and we would rather explain than have you wonder.
