Disclaimer
This page explains the limits of what Pure Vitality Hub can and cannot do for you. It covers medical and nutritional information, our calculators, advertising, affiliate links and external sources.
We would rather be clear about our limits than let anyone assume a website knows more about their body than their doctor does.
Medical disclaimer
The short version
Everything on this website is general education. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a treatment plan. It cannot replace a qualified healthcare professional who can actually examine you.
Pure Vitality Hub publishes general information about healthy eating, weight management and home exercise. That information is written for a broad adult audience and cannot take account of your medical history, current health, medication, allergies, injuries, hormonal status, body composition or anything else that makes you an individual.
Reading this site does not create a doctor-patient, dietitian-client, therapist-client or trainer-client relationship. Nobody here is assessing you, monitoring you or taking clinical responsibility for you.
Please speak to a professional before you
- Start a new exercise programme, particularly if you have been inactive, are over 40, are significantly overweight, or have any cardiovascular, joint or respiratory condition
- Make a significant change to how much or what you eat
- Begin any supplement, especially alongside prescribed medication
- Follow any suggestion here while pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive
- Apply general advice while managing diabetes, thyroid disease, heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, an autoimmune condition, or any chronic illness
- Act on anything here if you have a history of disordered eating
Never delay professional care
Do not ignore, avoid or delay seeking advice from a qualified professional because of something you read here. If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency department immediately. Do not send us a message and wait for a reply.
What we will not do
We cannot and will not answer personal medical questions, interpret your test results, comment on your symptoms, tell you whether a specific medication or supplement is safe for you, or advise on a specific diagnosis. If you send us that kind of question, our answer will be to point you to a professional, and that is not us being unhelpful. It is the only responsible answer available.
Nutrition and weight management
Nutritional information on this site, including calorie counts and macronutrient values for recipes and meals, comes from standard food composition data and general reference sources. Real figures vary with brand, growing conditions, ripeness, cut of meat, cooking method, portion size and how accurately anyone measures anything in a home kitchen.
Treat every number here as a reasonable approximation, not a laboratory result. If you need precise nutritional accuracy for a medical reason, such as carbohydrate counting for diabetes or protein restriction for kidney disease, work from figures your healthcare team gives you rather than from a website.
On weight loss specifically
We do not promise results. We do not publish before and after transformation claims, guaranteed timelines, or numbers designed to look impressive. Weight is influenced by genetics, hormones, sleep, stress, medication, medical conditions, life circumstances and history, and any site that promises you a specific outcome is either guessing or selling something.
Our content deliberately avoids very low calorie approaches, elimination without reason, detox and cleanse claims, and anything framed as a quick fix. If a suggestion here makes you feel anxious about food or drives you toward restriction, please stop following it and talk to someone qualified.
If eating feels difficult right now
If you are struggling with food, body image or compulsive exercise, general wellness content is not what you need, and it can make things worse. Please reach out to a qualified professional or a recognised eating disorder support service in your country.
Exercise and injury
Exercise carries inherent risk. Movements described here are chosen to be broadly suitable for healthy adults and are described as clearly as we can manage, but written instructions cannot correct your form, spot an old injury, or notice that a movement is wrong for your body.
You are responsible for exercising within your own limits. Warm up, progress gradually, use equipment properly, and stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, shortness of breath beyond normal exertion, or anything that simply feels wrong. Seek medical advice before continuing.
By following any workout described or generated on this site you accept that you do so at your own risk, and that Pure Vitality Hub accepts no liability for injury, aggravation of an existing condition, or any other harm.
Calculators and planning tools
Our tools use published, widely accepted formulas. The calorie estimate is based on the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which research generally finds accurate to within about ten per cent for most adults. Ten per cent of a 2,000 calorie day is roughly 200 calories in either direction, which is exactly why results are shown as a range.
These tools cannot:
- Measure your body composition, metabolic rate or hormone levels
- Account for medication, illness, injury, pregnancy or a medical condition
- Know your history with food, dieting or exercise
- Replace assessment by a doctor, dietitian or qualified trainer
Body mass index in particular is a population screening measure. It cannot distinguish muscle from fat, it says nothing about where weight sits on the body, and it is less reliable for very muscular people, older adults and across different ethnic backgrounds where risk thresholds differ. A BMI figure is not a diagnosis and not a judgement.
Results are estimates offered as a starting point. What actually happens over two to three weeks is better data than any equation, and a professional who can assess you is better still.
Advertising disclosure
This website displays third-party advertising, and that revenue is what pays for hosting, tools and the time spent researching and writing. Without it the site would not exist in this form.
Advertisements are served automatically by an advertising network. We do not choose the individual advertisers, we do not write their copy, and we do not review their products. An advertisement appearing next to an article is not an endorsement of it, and its content has nothing to do with our editorial opinion.
If you see an advertisement here that is misleading, offensive or inappropriate, please tell us. We can report it to the network and, in many cases, have that category blocked.
How advertising affects your data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Affiliate disclosure
Some pages on this site may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same either way, and the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
Where affiliate links are used, this is disclosed on the page itself, near the top, in plain language rather than buried in a footnote.
Our rule on this
Commission never decides what we recommend, and it never changes what we say about a product, including its drawbacks. If a product is not good, we would rather not write about it than write about it kindly for money.
As a matter of law in some countries, this is a material connection that must be disclosed, and we are happy to do so. If you would rather not use an affiliate link, search for the product directly. It costs us a little and costs you nothing, and that is entirely your right.
Sponsored content and gifted products
If we ever publish sponsored content, accept payment for a review, or receive a product free of charge in exchange for coverage, that relationship will be disclosed clearly at the top of the page before you read anything else.
We do not accept payment to alter a review conclusion, publish undisclosed paid links inside existing articles, or run content that presents an advertiser’s marketing claims as our editorial judgement. Requests of that kind are declined.
External links and third-party content
We link to external websites, studies and organisations where they add value. We check that a link is relevant and reputable at the time of publication, but we have no control over external sites, and they can change, move or disappear without warning.
We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability or practices of any external site, and a link is not an endorsement of everything published there. Once you leave this site, that site’s terms and privacy policy govern your visit.
Where we reference research, we aim to describe findings fairly and in context. Scientific studies vary enormously in quality, size and applicability, and a single study rarely proves anything on its own. If you think we have described a source inaccurately, please tell us.
Accuracy, updates and errors
We put real effort into getting things right, but no website is error free. Health and nutrition guidance also changes over time as evidence develops, so information that was accurate on the day it was published may later be superseded.
Content is reviewed and updated periodically, and corrections are made as soon as we become aware of a problem. We make no warranty that every page is complete, current or free of error at any given moment.
If you spot something wrong, please tell us with the page link and what you believe is inaccurate. Corrections are welcomed, not resented, and we would much rather fix a mistake than defend one. Our full approach is set out in the Editorial Policy.
Reader comments and experiences
Comments and reader experiences shared on this site reflect the views of the individuals who wrote them. They are not verified by us, they are not medical evidence, and they should not be taken as typical or expected outcomes.
What worked for one person may be unsuitable or unsafe for another. Individual results vary for reasons that are often invisible from the outside.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pure Vitality Hub, its owner, and anyone working on its behalf accept no liability for any loss, injury, illness or damage arising directly or indirectly from your use of this site, its content, or its tools, including decisions you make about food, exercise, supplements or health.
You use this website and act on its information entirely at your own risk. Full terms are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
Not sure whether something applies to you?
We cannot advise on your personal situation, but we are always happy to clarify what an article or tool is actually claiming.
